Raised $201,000 towards the $600,000 target.

The Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC) announced the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania (MLSWPA) as their 2016 Project of the Year (Press Release).  Each year, the CTCC names a local organization or project as the primary focus for their fundraising activities.

Two important enhancements to the Miracle League ball field at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportsplex in Graham Park are the focus of the CTCC’s 2016 Project of the year.

1.  Replacement of the playing surface at the Miracle League Field at Graham Park (more info)

2.  Construction of an all-inclusive, baseball-themed playground at the Miracle League Field at Graham Park (more info)

The joint CTCC-MLSWPA fundraising effort will officially kick off during Community Days, July 9 through 11.  That event is expected to generate approximately $100,000 toward the project’s $600,000 goal.  A Seneca Valley High School 12-hour Raiderthon dance has already raised $20,000 for the project.  Fun Fore All will donate $1 for every weekday round of miniature golf between July 9 and August 31.  All proceeds from the Community Chase 5k Race on July 11 will go toward the project, as will all the parking donations collected during Community Days.

The balance of CTCC’s community-wide campaign will get underway this fall, patterned after the highly successful 2013 campaign to raise money for Community Park’s Kids Castle.  A parallel fundraising effort, which includes foundations outside of Cranberry, will be undertaken by the Miracle League.
