Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play

Miracle League of Southwestern PA

Dear MLSWPA Family –

These past few weeks have been a challenging time for all of us – unprecedented circumstances that have forced us all to rethink and prioritize what we need to do to keep ourselves, families, and our community safe.  This is truly a difficult time for everyone.

At the Miracle League of Southwestern PA, we too are looking at what we need to do to keep everyone safe and do what is best for our community.  As an organization who is dedicated to providing the opportunity for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities to play organized baseball, we have an obligation to these individuals to do what is right during these times.  Therefore, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the Spring Season of baseball for all of our leagues this year.

As the corona virus situation continues to change and hopefully improve soon, we will consider the opportunity to add a short summer season.  If this is possible, based on the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and the PA Department of Health, we will be sure to communicate details to everyone.

As a parent, I recognize how important the Miracle League is to our players, so this decision was not an easy one.  If you have already registered for the Spring Season, your registration fees will be refunded to you.

If I can answer any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Take care and stay safe,

Mike Sherry
President, MLSWPA
